I am a happy camper. I’ve been wanting to run a roleplaying game for quite some time, but I didn’t know who I could get to join me. On Saturday we had some friends over and I asked them if they wanted to give it a try. They tentatively agreed and we set about generating characters. Thanks to numerous interruptions by the kids, we didn’t get beyond character generation. They came back on Sunday afternoon and we got about halfway through a simple adventure (Dire Kobold’s “She Loves Me Not”, adapted for Arcana Unearthed) . I was relatively sure Justin would get into at least a hack-and-slash adventure as we’ve run though both Diablo games, but I really wasn’t sure about Faith (his wife). However, she really enjoyed herself. Hopefully we can get together soon and play again.

Well, I’m still looking at CMS systems. iWare almost does what I want it to but it doesn’t handle apostrophes and the documentation is just terrible (or non-existent). Pages is nice and simple to set up, but I don’t want to redo the stuff I have in Textile and it doesn’t seem to have a simple setup for site navigation. I looked at Mambo but the documentation is in pdf format. That may be more “professional” but it’s also very annoying to read. Basically what I’m looking for is a system where I can set up the site with a minimum of fuss and then have the option of handing off the content to somebody else.
Here are my must-have features:
- Minimal server requirements - php, perl, MySQL at most
- Easy to set up site menu
- Editing via web page (at least Mozilla and Internet Explorer compatible)
- No or very low cost (I’m not get paid for this)

Both Jaimie and I have a Literary Abuse Problem. I said no to 14, 18, & 19 and Jaimie to 8, 9, 14, 18, & 19, so we both have a serious problem. Not that I plan to do anything about it.

I read somewhere that a good leader is one who makes decisions and a great leader is one whose decisions are right 75% of the time. Blogcritics.org: Expert or Tyro?

Given my propensity for typos, I found April Fools: Typos of Doom Illustrated to be rather amusing.

I’ve been looking at simple CMS systems. I realised that my home church doesn’t have a website either. Maybe if I get going on creating websites I could put up a simple one for them too.
